BeauGen’s breast pump cushions are made out of a food-safe, BPA-free and FDA-compliant plastic material. The cushion is 100% recyclable.   

Why are the BeauGen Breast Pump Cushions so sticky?

The unique, tacky texture of the cushions is essential in making sure that they adhere to the flange and stay in place while pumping. If you find that the cushions are sticking to your skin and causing discomfort, we recommend using a lubricant, like coconut oil, to increase comfort.

Will the breast pump cushions work with my pump?

Our breast pump cushions will work with most major pump brands and accessories. 

Do I need your product if I don’t have any problems with pumping?

That’s great that you don’t find any discomfort while pumping! A secondary use of our breast pump cushions is to help you with sizing if you are in between flange sizes.

How thick is the breast pump cushion? Will I need to go up a flange size to use it?

BeauGen Cushion is 1mm thick on both sides, so it will reduce the flange size by approximately 2mm. We recommend going up a flange size unless you are in between sizes. If you experience any uncomfortable rubbing during your first use, you can also try the Fold Method. 

What size flanges work best with the Clearly Comfy breast pump cushions?

We recommend the Clearly Comfy Cushions for moms looking for a desired flange fit between 19-25mm. Due to its slightly firmer material, the Cushions are not recommended for moms needing a fit of 26 mm + or 19mm and below.

What size flanges work with the BeauGen Breast Pump Cushions?

The Original breast pump cushions are most optimal when used with flange sizes 21mm-27mm.

What is fold method?

Fold the cushion like turtle-neck before put into flange. This hack is for 1) mama with shorter nipple, 2) first time user who experience any uncomfortable rubbing 3) to reduce flange sizes even smaller (- 4mm)

The breast pump cushions don’t seem to fit around my nipples.  Is there a way to stretch them?

Yes! You can “train” your breast pump cushions.

Will the breast pump cushions help to increase my supply?

The method for increasing supply will vary from mom to mom, but generally requires nursing and/or pumping to “full empty” more frequently. Using our cushions does not guarantee an increase in supply, but it may help by providing maximum nipple protection and comfort while pumping to full empty on a regular basis.  

Will the breast pump cushions work for everyone?

How do I wash my breast pump cushions?

Use gentle dish or hand soap and rinse under warm water.  

Can I sterilize my breast pump cushions?

Since the material is so soft and stretchy, exposing the cushions to high temperatures may make them more prone to tearing. Avoid sterilizing your breast pump cushions with boiling water, steamer bags, or open flame.

How should I store my breast pump cushions?

Store your nipple cushions in a dry, climate-controlled location, and out of reach from small children.

Do I have to replace my cushions?  

Yes! Similar to other breast pump supplies that need to be regularly replaced with frequent use, we recommend replacing your cushions monthly to help you get the most out of each pumping session. 

Please note that the cushions' longevity will vary for each mom based on a variety of factors, including: frequency of use, care of cushions, and length of pumping session. We recommend replacing your cushions every 2-8 weeks, depending on frequency and duration of each pumping session. Watch for signs of wear, such as thinning or tearing, and that is when you will know it is time to replace your cushions.

Why do I have to replace my cushions?

Over time, with consistent use, the cushions will start to thin and lose their cushion-y feel. You might also experience a tear in your cushion; this is a normal sign of wear.

When it does come time for you to get a new pair, remember that our cushions are 100% recyclable!

My Clearly Comfy Cushions tore shortly after use. What can I do?

We’re terribly sorry to hear that your cushion tore. We recommend the Clearly Comfy Cushions for moms looking for a desired flange fit between 19-25mm. If you used a flange size outside the recommended range that is likely why the cushion tore prematurely.
